Lisa also wore custom Robert Wun, integrating her own sense of identity: the Blackpink star had her arms 3D-scanned by the designer and placed around her body to mimic the movement of a traditional Thai dance.

María Zardoya went one step further: Wearing a diaphanous pink Matières Fécales gown, she chose to twin with a haunted-looking porcelain doll. The doll, made in the early 20th century, circa 1910-1925, was meant to represent her younger self. “My intention is always to celebrate art, and recognize the role that art plays not just in the telling of our shared history, but of our own individual histories as well,” Zardoya reflected. The doll spoke to “that little girl running around barefoot, playing with chickens at my family’s house in the Puerto Rican countryside.” (Zardoya is now auctioning off her Met Gala pal, with all proceeds going to Save the Music Foundation, an organization that funds music and arts programs for underserved public schools around the United States.)

Then there was a top hat-wearing Madonna, pushing the plus-one ask to its limit with a team of seven ladies-in-waiting. They completed a look inspired by the work of Surrealist painter Leonora Carrington. (Carrington was also a reference point for the singer’s classic “Bedtime Story” music video.)

And Heidi Klum just had to bring the Halloween to the Met, wearing custom Mike Marino. Painted like marble, the look was inspired by The Veiled Virgin by Giovanni Strazza.

Below, see the most outlandish fashions, the bodi-odi-odies, and the extra, extra-limbed looks at the 2026 Met Gala.
