Kendall Jenner Is Twisted & Torqued At the Met Gala

But this looks really good.

I've been thinking about Zac

and working with Zac for a really long time.

We never worked together before.

And he wrote me a letter about the Met

and doing the Met with me,

and when kind of thinking of what I wanted to do,

I felt like it was just really cosmic.

I was like, what are the chances

he emailed me and I was also kind of thinking about him?

And so, I felt like it was the right thing to do

and the moments came together so nicely, so...

It came together beautifully today-

I looked at the Winged Victory of Samothrace

which is at the Louvre.

I liked that idea that art is transcendent.

It's not owned by an institution, it's owned by the people.

It's living.

I like this because it's the goddess of Nike,

a goddess of game and play and of victory.

I took a Gap white t-shirt in my studio off my back

late at night and started twisting it and torquing it

and thinking about what that'd looked like

in the wind, in the movement.

You know, the piece was a Hellenistic piece

that must have been awe-inspiring for people.

Honestly, I think that when people must have seen that

at that time period, and then for centuries after,

has been awe-inspiring.

It must have been like

what we look at today, seeing technology.

Actually, I think there's like a full circle there.

It has realism and it has fantasy in it.

It also has wings, so there might be a surprise inside.

Ooh. Coming.

I love a surprise.

We like a surprise reveal

just for the museum and the night.

I love that. Anyhow,

so twisted, twerking, trying different ways,

you know, a little tear.
