The Met Gala is, obviously, the biggest night of the annual fashion calendar, but for some attendees it’s more than that—it’s an opportunity to gather up your partner, dress to the nines, and go on what amounts to the chicest date of all time.
Was the 2026 Met Gala the right place for clandestine lovers to steal kisses in the shadows? Most definitely not, as photographers were absolutely everywhere, but a significant handful of established celebrity pairs stepped out at the “Costume Art”–themed event in their best Fashion Is Art dress-code fashions and gave us all a chance to (subtly) gawk at their love.
Below, find a roundup of the cutest couples at the 2026 Met Gala.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky
Wherever this all-star couple goes, a sense of fun seems to follow, and the 2026 Met Gala was no exception. Rihanna rocked custom Maison Margiela by Glenn Martens and a golden pin-curl crown, while her long-term partner and co-parent, A$AP Rocky, was at her side (exactly where he should be!) in whimsical pink Chanel by Matthieu Blazy.
Venus Williams and Andrea Preti
Not everyone gets to bring a plus-one to the Met Gala, of course, but if you’re one of the night’s co-chairs, that rule blessedly doesn’t apply. Williams, who welcomed guests to the 2026 Met Gala alongside Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman, was accompanied by her husband, the actor, producer, and model Andrea Preti.

Tom Sturridge and Alexa Chung
The two Brits—who made their first public outing as a couple four years ago—cut a cool figure on the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, with Chung in custom, Monet-inspired Dior and Sturridge in custom Simone Rocha.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
When you’re a parent, carving out alone time for romance is almost a superhuman feat—but it’s one that actor and writer Gabrielle Union pulled off with her NBA-star husband, Dwyane Wade (with whom she shares one child and three stepchildren), at the Met Gala. I may not be one for PDA on, like, the J train, but as it turns out, I’m a huge fan of it on the Met red carpet!
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster
These two Broadway legends have been publicly dating for over a year, but the first Monday in May marked their Met Gala debut as a couple—and oh, what a debut it was! From costarring in The Music Man to enjoying a date night at The Met, it’s clear these two are perfectly suited to each other—especially when it comes to their mutual love of the arts.
Seth Meyers and Alexi Ashe Meyers
Mom and dad’s night out! Alexi Ashe Meyers dove into the Celine archives for her 2026 Met Gala look, emerging with a graphic, Yves Klein-inspired dress by Phoebe Philo from spring 2017. Seth, for his part, looked dashing in a Gabriela Hearst suit crawling with spider-shaped pins—a nod to the work of Louise Bourgeois.
Marcello Hernández and Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral
I simply love it when a man can’t shut up about how cool his partner is, and that most definitely seems to be the case with Hernández. The Saturday Night Live star described his girlfriend, architect and Yale graduate Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral, as “unreal” to E! News in February, adding: “She loves her family. She’s obviously well educated. Has manners, ‘please and thank you.’”
Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector
Hall and Spector have been married for over a decade and are the parents of an eight-year-old daughter, yet somehow when they hit the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, they were giving big “hot new couple” energy. Maybe it was their matching all-black attire (custom Tom Ford, duh), or maybe it’s just their perennial vibe. Who can say?
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor
Not only did this long-married couple attend the 2026 Met Gala together, but they did so in full Knicks-fan attire, hinting at their shared love of basketball (and the big Knicks game against the Philadelphia 76ers that they were missing for the Met Gala). Stiller wore a bright orange tie that paired beautifully with Taylor’s cobalt blue gown. Bing bong, in many ways!
